This auditorium features u-shaped balcony seating and a dramatic curved ceiling profile, comprised of suspended wood-veneer sound reflecting panels. Acentech provided recommendations on balcony shaping, ceiling and wall constructions, surface finishes, and sound isolation to achieve appropriate acoustics for the range of musical and spoken activities in the auditorium. As part of this effort, we developed a computer model to determine the optimum placement of the suspended ceiling panels. Additional Info: Our sound system design for the auditorium included a 24-channel mixer, central loudspeaker cluster, assistive listening system, and production communication system. During stage productions, sound system technicians have the option of operating the system either from an enclosed control booth or from a position located in the audience seating area. We also provided recommendations for duct sizing, duct silencers, vibration isolation mounts, and building constructions to reduce HVAC noise transmission to the auditorium. Comments: We worked with the architectural firm of Symmes Maini & McKee Assoc. (SMMA) on this project. | High School: Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School | Bridgewater, MA![]() ![]() ![]() Photos: Kate Smolley of Acentech, Inc. |
