Open for Lunch

This Cafeteria is used as a home for after-school study programs and other similar programs as well as a ‘typical’ high school cafeteria. The high ceiling and exposed ductwork create the ‘open’ feel desired by the architect and school officials. The acoustic deck and the sound absorbing masonry on the walls help to minimize reverberation. In addition, hanging baffles control sound levels for the large room. The baffles were placed at an elevation that is unobtrusive and yet compliments the exposed circular ductwork and large diffusers to create a space that is both aesthetically pleasing and functions well acoustically.
