A circulation spine at the center of an infill addition at Newberg High School is set off by a dynamic gallery wall for art, awards, academics, and athletics. Arrayed in a kaleidoscope of red, blue, and green and lit by a series of skylights, the corridor connects the student commons with a bamboo courtyard, administration, classrooms, and the media center on the second floor. The gallery wall is continued in the detached performing arts building.

Comments:
The simple but creative paint scheme combined with the natural light and shadows creates a magnificent space. A painted wall can be so much more than flat or eggshell. Keith@schooldesigner.com
