The Bartlesville Fine Arts Center consolidates fine arts programs into one multipurpose facility. The signature feature of the facility is a 1,208-seat performing arts auditorium surrounded by vocal music, band, orchestra, art, speech, and drama rooms. The design elements combine to create an atmosphere that not only meets the school’s physical needs, but inspires the creative spirits of students, faculty, and appreciative audiences. Additional Info: Hollis + Miller Architects of Overland Park, Kansas, provided design services.The design team’s challenge was to keep the character of the original school, built in the 1930s in the Streamline Art Deco style, while completely modernizing current spaces and adding new spaces to accommodate technology. A specific new area includes a 1,200-seat performing arts center, utilizing natural wood finishes to create an elegant and inviting venue that supports the community's performing arts pride.
