Clovis Performing Arts Center

The patrons of the theaters enter through a large glass entrance into a shared lobby. The lobby features stone flooring and a high ceiling with pendant-hung lighting. The lobby has been designed with well-lit display areas to encourage the school district’s displays of student art as an art gallery. Access to the Box Office, snack bar, and toilets is conveniently located directly off of the lobby. A variety of colors and textures of concrete block have been used effectively to give pattern, scale, and interest to the exterior of the Concert Hall. The concrete block, because of the significant height of the building, has been reinforced with a structural steel frame on the interior of the building, but the 8-in. concrete block masonry skin exterior walls provide the lateral strength.
