The renovation of the historic Eastern High School transformed two central light shafts into inspiring atriums. Once open to the elements, the light shafts were enclosed with polycarbonate skylights and connected to the first floor corridors. Each space was then "made over" with colorful stained concrete floors, new windows, restored brick, and a variety of plantings. In the West Atrium, a sculptural sundial helps students tell time in their new favorite part of the building.

Additional Info:

The renovation of Eastern High School restored the grandeur of the 1920s building while also implementing LEED Silver certification strategies.
