Sunshades

The Sunshades for this new Middle School serve both an aesthetic and functional purpose. A common sunshade width was derived with the use of a massing model which incorporated the solar patterns of the school's site. The sunshades serve to minimize glare and reduce the HVAC load by minimizing the amount of direct heat that enters the building envelope through the windows.
