Commodore Stockton CDC Elevator Tower

Gelfand Partners has modernized the Commodore Stockton Child Development Center in San Francisco's Chinatown neighborhood. A new elevator tower was added to the south side of the building to provide ADA access to the upper floors. Slate cladding was selected to enhance the handsome original building, and for its durability and low maintenance cost. The roof was reinforced to support a rooftop play area, and a covered walkway leading to the elevator was constructed.
