Innovative Finishes

Transformation of this 1889 mill building required one-story additions for administration and kindergarten. Set in an industrial neighborhood between a busy road and Amtrak's Northeast corridor, the repurposed complex is enlivened by the incorporation of bright, playful metal panels that work in combination with etched windows to announce the school's presence and to identify the kindergarten classrooms. The panels provide a child-sized scale to the school and also solidify its identity in the neighborhood.
