The first modern structure on campus, the Abbe Science Center is shaped by its rural surroundings and the environmentally sensible culture of the school. The science center´s ´corn crib´ aesthetic - modeled after the familiar farm icon - connects the facility to its rural roots, while presenting a modern approach fit for the high-level science and academic discovery going on inside. Clad in a natural cedar, the paneled corn crib design embodies the school´s farming history and offers a real connection to the outdoors through its physical shape, materials, and spectacular views.
