Graced by century-old oaks and willows, the Solebury School campus is a rustic agrarian village built around an original farmhouse, barn and outbuildings. The first modern structure on campus, the Abbe Science Center is shaped by its rural surroundings and the environmentally sensible culture of the school. The science centerīs īcorn cribī aesthetic - modeled after the familiar farm icon - connects the facility to its rural roots, while presenting a modern approach fit for the high-level science and academic discovery going on inside. Clad in a natural cedar, the paneled corn crib design embodies the schoolīs farming history and offers a real connection to the outdoors through its physical shape, materials, and spectacular views.
