The students at PS78 do not have access to their roof top playground due to the lack of protection against falling objects. This proposed design provides an open, transparent, yet safe canopy which compliments aesthetically the high end residential complex in which it resides. Contemporary materials such as stainless steel mesh and netting as well as aluminum perforated panels at the top will be used. The curved colorful acrylic panels create a playful enclosure suitable for learning and playing environments. Additional Info: There were many different requirements that had to be satisfied safety of the students, open structure to avoid cage-like feeling, the condominium board approval and a creative design which would enrich the existing condominium complex.
