The Cherokee people are rich in cultural heritage and they needed a building that would expand their efforts to revive their dying language. The Kituwah Academy provides the perfect backdrop for such a task. Children are surrounded with elements that highlight their connection with both nature and cultural heritage.
Colors, materials, and context of the exterior and interior emit a sense of visual enthusiasm for kids to learn.

Additional Info:

This facility was built from an existing landmark hotel that had long been closed. The reuse of an existing structure stayed true to the projects efforts of both cultural and environmental sustainability.
