Alpharetta High School![]() 404.873.2300 Offices Nationwide, view full profile Other Elements by this Professional In response to the client’s desire for a campus atmosphere, the arts and athletic facilities are located in separate buildings near the high school building’s front door to facilitate public access during and after school hours. Alpharetta High School features two adjacent art rooms a 2D lab and a 3D lab, that are located in the Arts and Music Building. This building houses the auditorium, music classrooms, and art classrooms. The art rooms have large overhead sectional doors which open into a wide corridor with the intent that the corridor serve as a second gallery space. The gallery is equipped with floor-to-ceiling tackable surface to display student work. There is also plenty of floor space to show student sculptures/3D work. The sectional overhead doors are semi-transparent to allow natural light from the art rooms to feed into the gallery when the doors are closed. When the doors are open, the two classes inspire each other to work together and collaborate. Since the Gallery is part of the Music suite, the gallery instills creativity for the music students. This motivation works in both directions. In the open corridor, music students may be practicing, enlivening the gallery in their own way.
