Courtyard Components

The design approach capitalizes on the interstitial space by developing an outdoor extension of the classrooms. Despite being a prototype building design, the courtyard components allow for variation from site to site. Each courtyard space develops a unique aesthetic as the administrators, staff and students will get to personalize their space by selecting various menu items --games, history path, wind turbines, theme gardens, and the list goes on. The simple architecture becomes the framework to the fun and inspiring outdoor learning environments.
