Solar Clock

The key feature of West Columbia Elementary School is a sundial in the main foyer of the building. The design team calculated the longitude and latitude of the building site to incorporate a Roman numeral style clock. Depending on the season, the light and shadows project through the glass panels in the tower demonstrating the passage of time and enabling the students to interpret the time.
