The use of merely vertical walls was called into question and instead all surfaces are "activated." All vertical elements in the project are designed to engage and facilitate function and use in the project. Instead of walls merely dividing space, the activated surfaces in the project absorbed function (shelving, storage, human geometry). These hyper-surfaces also offer function (display zones and other interpretative surfaces). Further, the entire space was comprised of two horizons: one at 3'6" for the developing youths and the other at normal head height for adults. Additional Info: This design was in Collaboration with Stephen Perrella, AIA, the Hypersurface theorist. Credits: Designed by David L. Dr. Haresh Lalvani, inventor Comments: “This design demonstrates the importance of thinking about space from a child’s perspective. While some adults might become dizzy or disoriented, a child would be in a magical learning wonderland.” Joel@schooldesigner.com | Walls
