Penta serves and educates 2000 students from five surrounding counties. Providing opportunities for collaboration and interaction, the building includes social zones for all students, an easily accessible commons area and an overall "family" atmosphere - students come from 16 different districts, and therefore lack a sense of unity. The open, light-filled dining commons area (surrounded by the media center and welcome center) responds to this need.

Additional Info:

The new 522,000 square foot facility features a "center core" area surrounded by three wings. The three-story, glass-walled core is the focal point of the new facility, and includes the dining commons, a 600-seat auditorium, multipurpose room, culinary arts kitchens, academic classrooms, and a third floor media center.
The wings that stem from the center core house the school's career-technical labs, adult education office and Board of Education office. The unique building design brings natural light into the space and offers views of the adjacent pond and outdoor seating area.
