With their background in the Peace Corps, both David Miller and Robert Hull believe in socially responsible and humane architecture. This is the foundation of the Miller Hull Partnership, a firm that practices original, sustainable and authentic designs, and whose philosophy centers around two essential design ideas. One is to use a building's structure to create a significant place within a site, and the other is to be sensitive to climate and to respond to environmental demands with the form of the building. Sustainability is incorporated in every project, and the firm's work in this field has been recognized since the early 1980's when Miller Hull won several national design awards for passive solar and building energy innovation.

Experience:

Designing for academia has been a mainstay of the firm's work since the 1980's. Miller Hull has worked with both public and private schools and universities on campus master planning, classroom, administration, and laboratory buildings; on new design and construction, as well as on remodels and additions.
