Imaginary Play Sculpture Animals

In coordination with the new learning landscape project to renovate their playground, Force Elementary's art teacher expressed that she'd like to see her student's artwork come to life in the playground. She shared student drawings of imaginary animals with the landscape architecture design team, Design Concepts and Urban Play Studio, and asked if they could be made into sculptures. The team contacted local Denver area soft play sculpture manufacturers, and the drawings were developed into large colorful climbing sculptures. The manufacturer designers expressed how inspiring the children's drawings were and that they worked hard to keep the creativity of each animal true to the original drawing. Three "animals" were chosen -- a giraffe, an anteater and a hippo -- and located centrally within the new playground so all the students from early childhood and kindergarten through fifth grade could enjoy and play on the new sculptures. The pieces make Force's new learning landscape one-of-a-kind.
