Library Cafe

The Ron Clark Academy's student run cafe provides the library with a welcoming interface and unique opportunity for community outreach. The community and school's many visitors will be invited in to use the library and enjoy an espresso served by the RCA students.

The 'reach for the sky' theme of the library (which features a bungee trampoline) is repeated in the cafe decor. The RCA jumping students are featured as backlit panels on the cafe bar and table tops. The cool blues and greens are repeated throughout the library. The custom cabinetry as well as all of the library bookshelves were contructed from green certified maple plywood.

The divider wall separates the circulation desk area from the cafe, giving the space it's own identity while still being visible from all areas of the library. The circle theme comes from the circular trampoline in the center of the library and is repeated in many of the surfaces, including the divider wall, the backlit circular image panels on the bar, the penny round backsplash, and the raised circular rubber floor.
