The Francis Allen School

The Allen School focus is children with learning, physical, and mental disabilities.


The natural world is brought to a child's level using the natural site slope to provide an elevated perspective "through the trees" children might not otherwise experience. The unique entry canopy and accessible "tree-house" use site cleared trees to continue the transformation in scale.


A calming neutral palette with warm "fall" colors was utilized to accent key spaces, classrooms and wayfinding.
