Get a Grip

The climbing wall has brought many benefits to the students at Normal Heights. Besides the physical nature of developing agility and muscle strength in students as they climb horizontally across the wall, teachers have benefited inside the classroom by using the wall as a teaching tool. We have taught integrated lessons in Math by graphing the hang time, and climbing speed of individual students, along with the personal times. We also integrate lessons with personal goal setting along with our character education program teaching perseverance.
