The building science applied here focuses on reduced maintenance, improved thermal protection and the prevention of water intrusion through capillary action or condensation within the wall and roof cavity. Over 90% of the cellulose materials found in typical construction are removed and replaced with materials that will not support the growth of mold should moisture become present due to spills, damage, poor maintenance or from humidity that builds up over the summer months when classrooms are shut down.

Top The basic model is 24´ x 36´ but can be built to any size or configuration. Non-combustible construction means the classrooms may be placed closer together on the site so valuable recreational or parking areas are not lost. Exterior cladding has clean lines with 26 gauge vertical steel siding. Bottom Left Polyiso rigid insulation and vapor barrier blankets the exterior of the building, for continuous thermal and moisture protection, moving the dew point away from the wall and roof cavities. HVAC systems provide improved ventilation with C02 sensors and air conditioning to control the relative humidity. Bottom Right Interior is a vinyl covered paperless drywall product that resists mold contamination if it becomes moist, placed on a 3/4 recycled plastic strip to help prevent wicking of any water from the floor if present. All PC2000 classrooms can be complexed with central corridors and linked to existing schools easily.
